BMSEED

BMSEED is a manufacturer of integrated research tools for drug development which reduce expensive failures of clinical trials by eliminating drugs at the pre-clinical stage, saving time and money that can be spent on more promising candidates.

More than 9 in 10 drugs that enter clinical trials fail to receive FDA approval, costing pharmaceutical companies $64B annually. A major reason for these failures is that many diseases are caused by a combination of genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. However, most research tools for mechanistic studies of diseases and pre-clinical drug screening perform only a single function. In order for clinical trials to be more successful, the multi-factorial causes of diseases need to be matched with multi-functional assays, i.e., the tools for studying diseases need to integrate multiple functions to more accurately replicate the conditions in the human body. Providing this capability is BMSEED’s core value proposition.

The critical technology is BMSEED’s elastically stretchable microelectrode arrays, which remain electrically functional upon the controlled stretch induced by their tool. BMSEED’s goal is to increase the success rate of clinical trials by eliminating drug candidates at the pre-clinical stage thus avoiding the large cost of failed clinical trials.
